America's Army

A new first person shooter game just came out. This game however is somewhat different that other first person shooters on the market right now.

First, its free. Yup, you can download the entire game and play it for free. Online multiplayer and everything.

Second, its brought to you by the United States Army. Designed by the Army to be a virtual Army experience.

You can get more information HERE at the official site.

The download is just over 200 Megs, and there is many mirrors of the download at different locations.
The demand for this game is very high right now, so downloads, and online play can be slow.

unified CMedia 8738/9738 drivers

I have uploaded some new CMedia 8738 drivers to my site. These drivers are different from past CMI8738 drivers (VxD or WDM). These are unified WDM drivers designed to work with the CMI8738 chipset, and the new CMI9738 chipset.

Also, compared to the older drivers, they do not include their own Mixer program. This is good, since the CMedia mixer was pretty cheesy anyway, and offered volume control in the same way the Windows mixer already did. To control special functions of the sound card, a new icon has been added to your Control Panel. You can set 2/4 speakers there, change S/PDIF settings, and mess with EAX/Reverb settings there.

You can get the drivers HERE. They are about 1.6 Megs.

Netscape 7.0 is out.

Ok, first, there never was a Netscape 5.0.

A "Netscape 6.0" was based on beta versions of the Mozilla web browser, so it wasn't even a complete product.

Before 6.0 or Mozilla was "complete" (reached 1.0 status), and even before a Netscape 5.0 was released, we now have Netscape 7.0

It has AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, Winamp, and a Spinner-like Net Radio all built in now.

- Oh, and I don't know if I'm missing something, but every version of Netscape/Mozilla I've used doesn't seem to take advantage of mice with more than two buttons. I'd really like to have a middle-click and scroll feature like Internet Explorer has.

new detonator drivers and random funny!

i have finished putting together some 29.40 Detonator drivers for NVidia based video cards.

xeno_detonator_winxp_2940x.zip - 3.8 Megs. (removed)

all the changes of the 28.90 drivers are about the same as the changes for the 29.40 drivers.

one added thing to make note of, NVidia seemed to have fixed something that prevented the VSync setting in the Direct3D options from "sticking" (you would turn it off, click on Ok, and then go right back to its properties and it would show nothing has been set for it - even though you just changed it).

also, since the 29.40 drivers seemed to have worked fine for me, and have fixed an issue that i've noticed in past drivers, i removed the download for my 28.90 drivers to save bandwidth.
