Volume 20, Number 4. Winter 2003-2004 issue of "2600"
On Page 46 is the article "Unlocking WebLock Pro" - I am credited on page 47.
WebLockPro was a site that sold some cheesy encryption software for $50. I looked at it, and knew I could get around it, so I started hacking at it. I posted some info on the Something Awful forum and asked some others if they wanted to help any. Within minutes a fully automated perl script was made that would decrypt the "encrypted" web pages on the fly.
After a few weeks/months, I received a private forum message from someone close to the publisher of 2600 magazine asking if it was ok if the work I had done was published. Of course I agreed. That guy wrote up an article on it and gave credit to me and another forum member for our work. The article even has a small obscure Something Awful reference. The article is mostly just a bunch of JavaScript and Perl (programming languages), so it wouldn't make much sense to anyone. I still think its neat to be mentioned in the magazine.
