updated xdn tweaker

i released an updated version of my XdN Tweaker program today. this version has some minor interface improvements, some new OS detection stuff, and a Windows Server 2003 specific tweak that turns off the annoying prompt on shutdown that asks for a reason for the shutdown.

you can download the latest version of XdN Tweaker from HERE.

XdN Tweaker 0.7.0.2

i have uploaded XdN Tweaker 0.7.0.2 on my site now.

i have the XdN Tweaker’s page located here (for now at least).

its kinda hard to have my main site updates, the XdNTweaker page updates, the internal updates page for the program, and every other site i do updated. all the stuff i do online is just one big mess. :)

New XdN Tweaker! (0.6.9.9)

I have just finished up XdN Tweaker 0.6.9.9 (think of it as like a 0.7 Beta).

One of the biggest changes with this version is the addition of a Network tab with TCP/IP tweaking controls.

The program requires the .NET 2.0 Framework.

more screen shots are available on the XdN Tweaker page.

XdN Tweaker 0.6.2

I just uploaded XdN Tweaker 0.6.2.

There are some minor changes from 0.6.0, including a new option to add/remove the ATI Catalyst Control Center item from the Windows Desktop right-click menu.

You can view the Change Log on the XdN Tweaker page.

XdN Tweaker Released

i’m making an official announcement regarding the release of a little program i’ve been working on.

XdN Tweaker is the current name of the program. i started creating it as just a way of messing around with Visual Basic. right now, it works with the registry and makes a few tweaks and/or changes to a system running Windows XP (with the .NET Framework 2.0 installed).

you can download it here:
xdn_tweaker

here are some screen shots of the program (click the thumbnails to get larger images):

you can find different builds of the program in my VB section: /programming/vb/, and read the change log here: xdntweaker

i started working on the program back in 2003 with Visual Basic 6. later, i started over with Visual Basic .NET 2003. just recently, with the release of VB 2005, i ported the program over to that and have continued working on it.

its not meant to compete with other tweaking programs, as it obviously has far less options. i just wrote it to see if i could.

updated xdn tweaker

jan 28th edit - the Reset Folder button in the Tweak program will cause it to crash. the program is expecting a non existant DLL to be in a certain location. i have the button currently disabled until i learn how to write some different registry routines. :(

i have a new version of my XdN Tweaker now. it’s up to an amazing two features!!

you can grab it here

new program

i’ve been doing some Visual Basic programming lately, updating some old programs, and working on some new.

one of the new ideas i had was to make some simple tweaking program of sorts. i wanted my tweaking program to at least have something i havent seen in other tweaking programs. one of those things was sort of a “fix” for Windows XP that made dealing with DivX videos on my system a lot easier.

it didnt take long, and i have a sample of the Tweak program available now.
all it does at this time is one video fix for Windows XP.

here are some small screen shots of it:

you can view larger images and download a copy from my visual basic programming section.
