a while back, Google came out with a program called “Hello” that allowed for sharing images and chatting with people.
Now, Google has released a “real” instant messaging program called “Google Talk”.

Google has just release a new IM and picture sharing program called Hello.
it has a buddy list and chat like all the other IM clients, and it has a “picture in the chat window” feature kinda like AIM’s Direct Connect. it integrated almost flawlessly with Picasa2, the imaging software Google had released earlier.
you can get Hello from here: http://www.hello.com/
you can get Picasa2 from here: http://www.picasa.com/
also, the Hello IM program seems to also work together with the Blogger service. it can be used to easily post pictures and updates to your blog.
i just got an invite from someone already using the Gmail service, and got myself a Gmail account now!
the address is: xenomorph AT gmail.com. (i’m typing it like that in the hope that spam spiders don’t pick it up.)
you can visit HERE to read a bit about Gmail. it’s basically an e-mail service provided by Google that offers 1 Gigabyte of e-mail storage (compared to just a few megs from services like Hotmail or Yahoo).
the Gmail service is in a closed testing state right now, so you can only get an account by first receiving an invitation from someone who already has an account.
