Some time ago, I made a post about a new browser called “Flock”.
Flock is a “social browser” built on Firefox. It has a new/different interface than Firefox, and several integrated buttons and shortcuts to many popular social and “Web 2.0″ sites such as Blogger, Flickr, Facebook, YouTube, and del.icio.us.
Flock has been in beta for a long time (I first posted about it over 2 years ago), but it has now reached a “final” state.
Visit Flock.com to download it now!

“Frets on Fire is a game of musical skill and fast fingers. The aim of the game is to play guitar with the keyboard as accurately as possible.”
It uses 3D accelerated OpenGL, and is available for Windows and Linux. It contains 3 songs.
i read about it from the assembly.org site web site, and at Slashdot.

to put it simply, Space Cowboy Online is an online jet flying game. it kinda plays similar to how StarFox played. SCO tries to play like any other online role playing game, except the twist is instead of walking around and killing stuff with swords or magic, you become engaged in dogfights with enemies in the sky or space while using machine guns, missiles, etc.
on May 25th, the SCO servers went live.
you can find out more about the game from its official site, http://sco.gpotato.com/.
Mozilla has just released the final version of Firefox 1.5!

the uTorrent client was recently updated (or “µTorrent”, as it’s really called).
uTorrent is like many other BitTorrent clients, except for a few notable things. while trying to copy the features and look of Azureus (the most popular BitTorrent client) its is able to use significantly less resources.
while Azureus requires that the Java runtime enviroment and itself both be installed, uTorrent is a native Windows application, and doesn’t require anything else installed. as of version 1.2, uTorrent is just 105K total in size. typical ram usage is around 6 megs or less. Azureus would sometimes take up 64-80 megs of ram, even when on no torrents!
you can get uTorrent here: http://www.utorrent.com/

Microsoft has just released Visual Studio 2005 Express for free (free to download for the next year).
Visual Studio includes applications such as Visual Basic and Visual C# (C “Sharp”), which are used to create Windows applications.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/
A Microsoft program manager put things a bit more clear than what the VS Express site states:
“Until November 7, 2006, we are promotionally discounting the downloadable versions of Express to free. This doesn’t mean that the product turns off after a year, but rather that as long as you download the product before November 7, 2006, you can get it for free and you can use it forever.”
a new web browser has recently been released.
it’s called Flock, and its based on Firefox.
it’s not just another Firefox skin or Gecko based browser (the Firefox HTML rendering engine) - it’s a whole new browsing experience for those who like taking part in online communities.
first off, it’s Bookmark system has been replaced with the online bookmark site del.icio.us. So everytime you bookmark a site while using the browser, the link is shared and made public. that also means your bookmarks are stored remotely, so they can be viewed from any computer on the internet.
second, it has built in support for multiple blog sites. WordPress and Blogger are some of the common sites Flock supports. so while browsing the net with Flock, you can easily post to your blog.
since its based on Firefox, Flock has the ability to be improved through its Extension system.
Flock is free, and you can get it here: http://www.flock.com/
i dont know if there is any real use from this, but it is still kinda interesting.
it’s an online bookmarks site. any bookmark you add is viewable by others, and you can view others’ bookmarks as well. the site keeps track of who bookmarks what, and will show you how many other people have bookmarked the same site as you.
it even gives a list of the some of the most common bookmarked sites!
you can view the site here:
http://del.icio.us/
