Asheron's Call 2 Video and new CMI8738 drivers

Some new drivers came out for CMedia 8738 based sound cards. These drivers are based off the WHQL drivers that were available off the Windows Update web site. Of course my version has the improved mixer icon. :)

I know some have seen this, but most haven't - and then again most people have no interest in Asheron's Call or know what it is.

But anyway, here is a short video of the upcoming Asheron's Call sequel.

just letting everyone know that ram has dropped price again at MemPlus.com.

Alternative WDM 627 drivers for the CMI8738

A Korean company has released their own version of the 627 WDM drivers. As mentioned from the 3DSoundSurge forums, "MAYA 5.1 drivers are the same as those on C-Media site but they have fixed the INF file and configured it for 5.1 output cards."

Also - something I noticed is the Mixer from the drivers is the SAME mixer I put together for my "hacked" drivers, with a custom tray icon from Windows XP. The default CMedia Mixer tray icon was kinda ugly, so I put my own in the Mixer program - and now it seems this Korean company is using my custom mixer in their drivers. I don't know if I should feel flattered or ripped off. :)
